Woodcutter’s Lodge, Suffolk
Woodcutter’s Lodge is a stunning property nestled within its own plot on the edge of the Suffolk village of Holbrook. Welcoming up to 6 guests, it offers the perfect countryside retreat with beautiful contemporary interiors. Holbrook is situated between the River Orwell and the River Stour and is a stone’s throw from 400 acre Alton Water.
The property has a light and luxurious open-plan living and dining area, fully equipped with home-from-home comforts and amenities. Spacious and modern with a large vaulted ceiling, it offers the ideal setting for enjoying a relaxing countryside getaway.
The two bedrooms with soft-toned decor have sumptuous king-size beds, one with its own en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom, which can be either a super-king or two singles, is next to a large bathroom, complete with a shower and bath. A small double sofa bed accommodates two further guests in the living area.
The large open-plan living and dining area opens out onto a south-facing patio, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee and then later, after a day of exploring, having a relaxing evening drink.
Woodcutter’s Lodge is a stone’s throw away from Alton Water, which ranges across nature trails, cycling routes (bike hire available), fishing spots, dinghy sailing and paddle boarding. Footpaths from the property will take you to the east side of Alton Water within 15 minutes. Pack a picnic and spend the day relaxing on the water’s edge, taking in the beautiful scenery, or for the more enthusiastic, you can walk the circular 10-kilometre route in its entirety.
The local shop, butcher and pub are a short walk away for supplies. The Suffolk Foodhall and The Freston Boot pub and restaurant are a few minutes’ drive.
